How do I send out a personalized e-newsletter? (eg. Hello “name”)

It is really easy to send out a email addressed to a specific name or any other detail/demographic item provided this information is in the EMS database.   (If it isn’t in the database but you want to import this info in, let us know and we’ll help you do this.)

To send out an email addressed to a person’s first name, all you need to do is within the e-newsletter editor, put your cursor where you want their name to appear, then click on the “Dynamic Variables” dropdown menu and select “Insert Subscriber First Name”.  Then when your email is sent out it will include the first name of your subscriber automatically.

Below are descriptions of all of the dynamic name variables:

Insert Subscriber Email (##SubscriberEmail##) The subscribers email address.
Insert Subscriber Name (##SubscriberName##) The subscribers full name.  If unavailable, the email address is used.  If you are using a first name/last name convention, use the fields below.
Insert Subscriber First Name (##SubscriberFirstName##) The subscribers first name
Insert Subscriber Last Name (##SubscriberLastName##) The subscribers last name
Insert Subscriber Salutation (##SubscriberSalutation##)  Salutation such as Mr., Mrs.
Insert Subscriber Name or Blank (##SubscriberNameBlank##) The subscribers name.  This field is identical to ##SubscriberName## but if the name is unavailable it is replaced with a blank rather than the email address.
Insert Subscriber Name or Alternative ##SubscriberNameAlternative## The subscribers name.  If unavailable, the value specified in the preferences for “Subscriber Name Alternative” is used.
Insert Subscriber First Name or Alternative ##SubscriberFirstNameAlternative## If the subscribers first name is unavailable/empty, the value specified in the preferences for “Subscriber First Name Alternative” is used.
Insert Subscriber Last Name or Alternative  ##SubscriberLastNameAlternative## If the subscribers last name is unavailable/empty, the value specified in the preferences for “Subscriber Last Name Alternative” is used.
